Every spring, just after Holi, Jaipur celebrates Gangaur: women in their brightest colours, songs for the goddess Gauri, a procession winding through the old city. This room carries the festival through the year, in folk art, hand-worked textiles and warm colour.
It is one of our larger rooms at 220 sq ft, with a 6 × 6.5 ft bed, a day bed, a work desk and a separate dressing area. Open the balcony doors late in the day, when the light from the west comes in gold.
